KVP donated Rs 21 lakhs as a revolving fund

Hyderabad, June 13: Dr. YSR & Dr. KVP Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust established by Dr. K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao to take forward the dreams of his close friend Late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has donated a sum of Rs. 21.00 lakhs as a revolving fund for instituting an annual cash award of Rs. 1.00 lakh to an academically meritorious student pursuing studies in Agricultural Sciences at Prof. Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

The cheque was handed over on behalf of the Foundation by Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Former Member of Parliament, to Prof. Aldas Janaiah, Vice-Chancellor, during the 62nd Foundation Day Celebrations of Prof. Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University and National Seminar on “Incredible Contributions of Late Smt Indira Gandhi to the Green Revolution with special emphasis on Agricultural Research and education in India” held on 12 June 2026.

The programme was graced by the presence of Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, Distinguished Judge (Retd.), Supreme Court of India; Prof. Madhura Swaminathan, Indian Statistical Institute, Bengaluru; Sri Tummala Nageswara Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Government of Telangana: and Sri M.Kodanda Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission.

The initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to encouraging academic excellence and supporting deserving students in the field of Agricultural Sciences. Agriculture was a subject very close to the heart of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who consistently championed the welfare of farmers and the development of the agricultural sector. Instituting this award in Agricultural Sciences is a fitting tribute to his vision and enduring commitment to empowering rural communities through education and agricultural advancement.
