Hyderabad, May 29: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy drew the Congress party’s action plan to protect the vulnerable sections mainly Dalits, Minorities, Adivasi , Tribal and migrant workers from the deletion of their names in the voters list under the SIR ( Special Intensive Revision), which is being launched in the Telangana state from June this year.
Participating in the Congress party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting here today, the Chief minister warned that the SIR could emerge as a major issue for Lambada, Adivasi, and migrant workers. In several constituencies, a significant number of people have migrated elsewhere. The possibility of the omission of votes of Dalits, minorities, and women was also not ruled in the SIR, the CM remarked.
CM Revanth Reddy instructed the party leadership to appoint In-charges for all 119 Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies. The In charges should visit their respective constituencies regularly. We can ensure that not a single vote is deleted only when the in charges perform. The In-charge Ministers were also ordered to dedicate one full day every ten days exclusively to party-related activities. They should visit the grassroots level and personally interact with the party workers.

The CM said that he would also meet with party functionaries at village level once in every 10 days. From now, he will dedicate 3 days a month exclusively to party functionaries. The CM highlighted that 4.5 million digital memberships were completed within 90 days with the help of the booth enrollers and those who registered the highest number of memberships were already felicitated by Rahul Gandhi. Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons were ordered to take part actively in the party programme. The TPCC leadership was also instructed to give priority to the enrollers who played a pivotal role in the Congress membership during the SIR process.

The Chief Minister noted that the positive aspect was the party leaders and workers were understanding better about the SIR . The leaders were also recognizing the potential difficulties the SIR could pose to common people, the poor, and Congress party workers.
CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that the party should develop a comprehensive understanding of the solutions to the problems that may arise from the SIR.

Further, CM Revanth Reddy said that we should also seek and incorporate the advice and suggestions of former PCC Presidents. The party should take precautions to ensure that the votes of those who have migrated elsewhere are not lost. Meetings regarding the SIR must be organized on an Assembly constituency basis across the 15 constituencies within the Hyderabad city limits. Specific responsibilities within the Hyderabad region should be assigned to Rajya Sabha members and MLCs.

The Chief Minister appealed to all party leaders to move forward in a spirit of coordination. The Mahila Congress should conduct cluster wise SIR meetings.
