Nakrekal, September 05: Attend assembly or quit to keep the dignity of the same… Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Challenged the former CM KCR in Nakrekal today. He spit fire on the BRS regime and vowed that we won’t allow BRS to sprout again in Telangana. Addressing a public meeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy threw a challenge to BRS President and opposition leader K Chandrashekhar Rao to attend the Assembly session commenced on Monday. The Chief Minister dared KCR to quit the MLA post with dignity and prepare for a by-election in his Gajwel Assembly constituency if he is not ready to attend the session. CM said that the government is ready to debate on every issue in the Assembly and the opposition leader should also join the discussions. The Chief Minister took a swipe at the opposition leader for skipping the sessions. Employees are dismissed if they fail to report for duty for 365 days. KCR received ₹22,24,40,000 from the government but did not step out even for a single day. Should he be dismissed or not? Was not the salary KCR received paid from taxes collected from the poor?
Reiterating that he will not allow the BRS to sprout again in Telangana, CM Revanth Reddy said confident of winning Sircilla and Gajwel seats in next elections. He will visit Sircilla and Siddipet at the end of September. “We are ready to settle the matter in Sircilla and Siddipet. Let the Kalvakuntla family, brace yourselves. We will give a fitting reply. Let’s settle this in the upcoming elections”, the Chief minister said that the Congress would retain power for a second consecutive time by winning 90 out of 117 seats. From 2024 to 2034, the ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ (Indira’s rule) will prevail for two terms.
Coming down heavily on BRS working President KT Rama Rao, the CM said that KTR, who studied in Guntur, was not even fit for the job of a peon. He brought in a gang of dacoits and looted Telangana like bandits. We are also ready to expose KTR’s decency and his education standards. It was KTR who threw his own sister out of the house because he feared that if she returned from Tihar Jail, she would demand a share of the family property. Kavitha was also suspended from the party. Is KTR capable of looking after the welfare of crores of women? The CM blamed KCR for not reprimanding KTR and confined to sleeping in the farmhouse. “Now, the BRS has no future”.
Revanth Reddy said that he may or may not be highly educated, but he certainly possesses decency and culture. Without decency, one would not even step out onto the street. One would just stay holed up in a farmhouse. It is because of that decency that he invited Seethakka and Konda Surekha into his home and had them tie Rakhi.
Drawing a comparison in giving posts during the BRS and Congress rule, CM Revanth Reddy said that KCR made Harish Rao and KTR as ministers in his cabinet. In the Congress government, Seethakka and Adluri Laxman were given minister posts. Santosh Kumar was made an MP and the Congress provided an opportunity to Chamala Kiran as an MP. When KCR was CM, he appointed Vinod Rao as Planning Commission Vice-Chairman and made Kavitha an MLC. The Congress made Shankar Naik, Addanki Dayakar, and Satyam as MLCs. Under the people-centric governance, we have awarded MLC posts to three individuals from Nalgonda district for the first time. While KCR gave positions to his own children and relatives, we have given big positions to Shankaramma and the granddaughter of Chakali Ailamma. The statues of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud and Jyotirao Phule have been installed. KCR appointed his son, KTR as the Working President and we appointed Mahesh Kumar Goud, a son of the weaker sections as the TPCC President.
The Chief Minister accused KCR of neglecting the poorer and weaker sections in giving posts. KCR treated Telangana state merely as a resource to be looted—like a personal asset involving newspapers, TV channels, and his farmhouse. Now, the BRS leaders were making baseless accusations against the Congress government. The people-centric administration was working for the poor, women, and those who participated in the statehood movement, the CM remarked.
Comparing the achievements of the governance of the past 10 years with the administration of the last 1,000 days, CM Revanth Reddy said that the welfare and development initiatives undertaken during these 1,000 days of ‘people’s governance’ should be evaluated. The Congress government has successfully completed 1,000 days in office. Despite the introduction of remarkable schemes during these 1,000 days, some wicked and foolish individuals are claiming that the government has failed. The BRS leader was going from village to village demanding the Chief Minister’s resignation. “The leader was roaming around criticizing the government like the decorated Gangireddu’ bulls that appear during festivals.’
The CM claimed that his government did not cancel the schemes announced by the previous administration. Instead, we expanded the schemes implemented by the previous government and made them more accessible to the public. The BRS regime implemented a Rs 1 lakh farm loan waiver scheme in four installments. We waived up to Rs 2 lakh farm loans at one go.
Highlighting the farmers welfare in the Congress government, the Chief Minister said that the BRS government sold off the Outer Ring Road and pocketed 7,000 crore rupees. KCR stepped down from power after deceiving farmers by failing to release the final installment of Rythu Bandhu. We waived loans worth two lakh rupees for 25,35,000 farmers and ready for a debate on this issue in Siddipet and Sircilla. We also disbursed Rs 36,000 crore rupees under Rythu Bharosa in 32 months and were ready for debate in the Assembly. KCR threatened the farmers to stop paddy cultivation. My government was providing a Rs 500 bonus. Rs 30,000 crore on free electricity and spending of Rs 1.70 lakh in the last 32 months for the benefit of 70 lakh farming families. “Let the father, son, and son-in-law come to the Assembly, and we will settle the scores”, the CM challenged.
CM Revanth Reddy criticized KCR for neglecting women empowerment. The Chief Minister listed out the women empowerment schemes mainly free RTC bus travel for women through the ‘Mahalakshmi’ scheme by spending ₹11,000 crore to the RTC. Free travel will continue as long as the ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ (people-friendly governance) prevails, the CM said we procured 1,000 buses for women, leased them to the RTC, and ensured a monthly rental income of ₹70,000. Women groups were also promoted as entrepreneurs to compete with Adani and Ambani to set up 1,000 MW solar power plants. We also facilitated the establishment of petrol bunks by women and set up ‘Indira Mahila Shakti’ stalls on a 3.5-acre land worth ₹1,000 crore near Hitech City, allowing women’s groups to sell their products. We are creating opportunities in various businesses with the goal of making one crore women as ‘crorepatis’ (millionaires) by 2034. The women groups were also entrusted with the business of stitching school uniforms to women and handed over the ‘Amma Adarsha Patashala’ (Mother Model School) initiative to women.
CM Revanth Reddy recalled the unemployed struggle during the Telangana movement. Students from Kakatiya and Osmania Universities fought for the cause and the statehood was achieved through the ultimate sacrifices made by the youth. The Chief Minister alleged that the previous government leaked question papers and played with the lives of unemployed youth. The present government provided 72,000 jobs in two years. Supply of fine rice to 3.48 crore beneficiaries across 1.06 crore ration card-holding families, free electricity to 50 lakh households was also highlighted. The Congress government also procured paddy cultivated by BRS leaders and provided ‘Rythu Bharosa’ benefits.
