Hyderabad, August 06: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy drew a roadmap to complete the radial works and land acquisition expeditiously by bringing all road networks under a single system.
Holding a review with top officials of HMDA and HRDCL at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion on Thursday, the Chief Minister emphasized that All road network development works including land acquisition, loans, and road maintenance should be integrated and brought under a single system. Outer Ring Road, Regional Ring Road, city flyovers, underpasses, and other roads should fall within the scope of the new system.
The CM instructed the officials to expedite the construction of radial roads and set December 9 as a deadline to complete Radial Road 1, connecting Kongara Kalan to Future City. Hurdles in the construction of radial roads and quick resolve of such issues were discussed in the meeting. Quality in construction of the roads, soil used in road construction, necessary precautions, greenery on both sides of the roads, crucial Budvel trumpet interchange, work progress of the Elevated Corridors I and 3, quick construction work on the Elevated Corridor III stretch from Banjara Hills to Shilpa Layout were also reviewed.
Stating that Hyderabad’s future depends on road connectivity, CM Revanth Reddy stressed that land acquisition should be accelerated without any delay. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to involve the Traffic Department in road planning and construction and warned that he will not tolerate the interference of middlemen in land pooling
The Chief Minister was serious about the poor maintenance of the Outer Ring Road. The CM enquired the officials about the reasons for the frequent road accidents on ORR and causing heavy traffic jams. The Chief Minister warned the agency for not maintaining safety on the ORR and instructed the authorities to adopt all measures to stop road mishaps.
On the implementation of the TDRs (Transferable Development Rights), the Chief Minister gave specific instructions of issuing TDR only for the lands acquired by the government and digitize the entire process. The officials were also ordered to develop a robust system to eliminate irregularities in TDR.
Special Chief Secretary (Municipal Administration & Urban Development) Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary to the Chief Minister Manik Raj, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ranga Reddy District Collector Narayana Reddy, and other senior officials were present.
