CM Revanth Reddy launched Vanamahotsavam – 2026 and inaugurated infrastructure development works across Gurramguda in Rangareddy district
Hyderabad, June 18: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy affirmed that the government would develop the Bharat Future City and invite global investments to set up their firms in the first of its kind new state of the art city in the country.

Launching ‘Vanamahotsavam -2026’ on Thursday, the Chief minister said that the government was undeterred by the hurdles created by the opposition party BRS to the future city. “ We are committed to complete the prestigious future city project and see that people eulogize the city for generations in the future”.

The CM launched a scathing attack on the BRS for demanding the establishment of the pharma companies in the future city. The BRS was opposing the construction of a future city across 30,000 acres and insisting only pharma companies should be established. People have already rejected the BRS and the leaders who have no future were yelling against the future city, the Chief minister charged. Let Harish Rao win the next election in Siddipet first.

CM Revanth Reddy pointed out that we had to struggle a lot to shift the Siris pharma company from LB Nagar long back. The set up of pharma companies in the future city posed a big threat. The Chief Minister warned that the opposition was conspiring to stall the future city by lodging complaints in the High Court and NGT. “We are developing a 15,000-acre forest within the ‘Bharat Future City’ project as the 60 percent of the area will be covered by greenery”, the CM said, appealing to the people to teach a befitting lesson to the leaders who opposed the project.

Stating that the government was striving to transform Hyderabad into a global city, CM Revanth Reddy criticized the BRS for opposing the Musi Rejuvenation project. “Pollution in the bellies of Kalvakuntla family members is more than in the Musi River”. In the past, those living along the Musi River were relocated to the newly built Nandanavanam Colony which has now become a crucial area.

The Chief minister noted that people living along Musi River were facing numerous hardships due to pollution. The government was making efforts to clean up the Musi River and reclaim lakes from encroachments. The Hitech City, Outer Ring Road, international airport, and IT companies in the region would not have gained international recognition if the previous rulers had not conceived these prestigious projects. The CM recalled that Devender Goud has played a significant role in the land acquisition for Shamshabad airport. The Chief minister expressed serious concern that people of Nalgonda district were facing immense hardship due to Musi River pollution. Many of them were migrating due to serious health ailments. “I will certainly clean up the Musi River and develop it to international standards along the 55-kilometer stretch from Gandipet to Gowrelli”

Following the opposition criticism on HYDRAA , CM Revanth Reddy said that we are determined to clear encroachments on tanks and other water bodies. The HYDRAA was removing encroachments ensuring that colonies would not face inundation and the poor would not suffer. The government thwarted the attempts made by the opposition to portray the HYDRAA as a ‘monster’. The CM made it clear that the HYDRAA will not interfere with those buildings and homes constructed on the legitimate land. The HYDRAA has already reclaimed temple land that had been encroached upon in Vanasthalipuram.

The Chief minister cautioned residential colonies would submerge if the lakes were encroached upon. The government will not spare encroachers. The CM mentioned that Delhi was already in the grip of air pollution where people are struggling to breathe air. Mumbai was flooding and Bengaluru was facing regular traffic problems. The government is committed to make Hyderabad as the best livable city in the country.

Announcing that the government will provide adequate funds for Gurramguda Eco Park, CM Revanth Reddy said that the government resumed the encroached lands by winning cases in the Supreme court for developing the big park. We dedicated 424 acres at Gurram Guda as a national park for the local people.

The CM also shared his close association with LB Nagar, Vanastalipuram and other nearby areas during his stint as Malkajigir MP. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi gave him the opportunity to contest as the MP after his defeat in Assembly elections from Kodangal in 2018. Recognising his fighting spirit as an MP, the Congress gave him the post of TPCC President. The CM recalled that LB Nagar Assembly constituency gave a majority of 30,000 votes in the MP elections. The LB Nagar Assembly area is home to a large number of people hailing from the Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, and Mahabubnagar districts. As an MP, he visited the flood hit areas. “Visiting LB Nagar evokes the same feeling in me as visiting my native village, Kondareddypalli”, the Chief minister said that only a few parts of Rangareddy district were developed. Areas like LB Nagar, BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Gurramguda have not seen development. Now, we are constructing an international-standard fruit market in this area, spanning 240 acres at a cost of ₹2,400 crore. The CM criticized LB Nagar MLA for deceiving local people.
