Kodangal, July 22: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy warned that the BJP was conspiring to delete the names of the voters of the SC, ST and Minority communities in the ongoing SIR. The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP and BRS plotted a backstab attack on him by deleting a huge number of Congress sympathiser votes in Kodangal Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the BLAs meeting, the CM alleged that, despite having different names, the BRS and BJP are two sides of the same coin. The two opposition parties were hatching a conspiracy to undermine his political grip on Kodangal in a bid to weaken his stronghold at the state level.
CM Revanth Reddy forewarned the Congress that opposition parties are trying to remove the votes of Congress sympathizers in Kodangal. Unable to face him directly, the Chief Minister said that the two parties plotted a backstab attack. The Chief Minister asserted that the responsibility of burying the opposition lies with Kodangal people.
Since the deadline for the SIR is August 3, the CM appealed to BLAs to complete the enrollment of all voters. So far, 1,96,620 votes submitted SIR applications. 54,635 people have not yet registered. Registration is still pending for 22 percent of the total votes, CM Revanth Reddy cautioned the BLAs to deletion of Congress votes . The responsibility of registration of the names rests with all BLAs. Losing one’s vote means losing one’s identity, the Chief Minister said the party workers should also go door-to-door and ensure voter verification forms are filled out. The BLAs should also provide voter details to election officials rests.
The CM instructed the BLAs to complete the 100 per cent enrollment by July 30 ensuring not a single eligible person should lose their vote.
CM Revanth Reddy thanked Kodangal people’s unwavering support and blessings to lead the state as CM. Even working 18 hours a day, he finds the time insufficient to develop all 119 constituencies.
