“Varuna Yagam” at Nagarjuna Sagar on August 10

Hyderabad, August 07: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy decided to perform ‘Varuna Yagam’ seeking bountiful rains in the current monsoon season in the Telangana state.

Priests, Vedic scholars, and astrologers of the famous Yadagirigutta temple fixed August 10 as the auspicious day to conduct the Yagam. CM Revanth Reddy will participate in the grand ‘Purnahuti’ (concluding offering) ceremony following the Yagam on the same day.

The ritual will be performed at the Vijaya Vihar premises located on the banks of the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. The Yagam rituals will be conducted by the Yadagirigutta temple priests and Vedic scholars in the supervision of the state Endowments Department at the designated auspicious time.

Special prayers will be offered with a resolution that the Krishna and Godavari rivers and local tanks receive good inflows and the Agriculture and livestock thrives in the season.

The Varuna Yagam will be held under the leadership of the State Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies, Uttam Kumar Reddy.
