Why Kejrival party lost in Delhi?

Amidst the Delhi Election Result, I was a backed by the assorted perception of mixed voices across the country.

Few voices say, “Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia lost the election because they were arrested under the matter of Delhi Liquor Scam”. So people of Delhi are unlikely to choose them as they were against the democratic principles i.e, involved in corruption. Hence, arrested and public made them taste the defeat. This is the triumph of democracy as we did not consider Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia as MLA’s claimed few voices.

Is Democracy different from place to place and state to state.

There are certain leaders who conceded a great triumph after they were released from jail. Chandra Babu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was in jail for three months, won 2024 election with landslide victory. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy was behind bars for 16 long months, became chief minister with victory by sweeping 151 seats in Andhrapradesh in 2019. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana was arrested under “Vote for Note” case rose like a phoneix to dethrone the helm of Telangana.

Jaya Lalitha of Tamilnadu convicted in a disproportionate-assets case, rendering her disqualified to hold office. She returned as chief minister after being acquitted in May 2015. In the 2016 assembly election, she became the first Tamil Nadu chief minister since M.G.R in 1984 to be voted back into office.

If the aforementioned leaders rose to an ocassion after their release from the jail under corruption charges. Did the democracy lost in this case?

The defeat of Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia is a case study on how a leaders lose their mandate irrespective of the work. It’s the narrative that win the election not the work or the electoral promises…

Delhi election prove, democracy is different from state to state and place to place ….

Neither the democracy nor the leaders won/lost in Delhi. But, a magic potion called “Narrative” won the election.
