Kothagudem, December 02: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy affirmed that the Telangana state would be made number one in development in the next 10 years in the country. Appealing to the people to shed group rivalry in the villages and support the government for the effective implementation of the welfare schemes, the Chief minister said that the People’s government was already delivering promises through good governance.
Addressing the public meeting in Kothagudem today, the CM stressed that people should elect good candidates as Sarpanches in the Gram Panchayat elections. “Free electricity, distribution of ration cards, fine rice, Indiramma houses, Indiramma sarees and other scheme benefits can be reached at the doorsteps of the needy only when the villages elect competent leaders as village heads “.
The Chief Minister accused the previous BRS government of being responsible for not completing the pending projects in the Khammam district. The rulers in the last government exploited the projects for commission and not a single project was completed. CM Revanth Reddy assured that adequate funds would be provided to complete all the pending projects in the district soon. As a witness to Bhadradri Sri Rama Temple, I am taking the responsibility for the development of Khammam district.”
The CM recalled Kothagudem and Palwancha people’s significant role during the Telangana movement. “ Farmers gave hundreds of acres for Kothagudem Thermal Power Station, but outsiders have got jobs in the project . It was the reason people of Palwancha revolted and launched the Telangana movement” .
CM Revanth Reddy also remembered the yeoman services rendered by former Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh to the country. The former PM fulfilled the aspirations of the Telangana people by granting statehood. It is a great opportunity to name the Earth University after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. During his ten years as Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh took the country to new heights in development. It was first PM of India Nehru who introduced Education policy and set up big universities to root out the crisis in the country. Nehru also built many projects including Bhakra Nangal, Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar to address food shortage.
Expressing gratitude to Khammam district people for giving a big mandate to Congress in the 2023 Assembly elections, the CM said that education alone makes Telangana a powerful state and hence the government was taking revolutionary decisions to strengthen the education sector. Irrigation facility by utilizing river Krishna and Godavari waters in Khammam district would also be provided. Ministers Bhatti Vikaramarka, P Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageshwara Rao were already developing the district, the CM said.
