Ganga, Yamuna and Sabarmati rivers rejuvenated. Can’t we revive river Musi?

Last Government dumped Musi development project.

TG Government will thwart opposition’s bid to stall Musi project.

CM Revanth Reddy addresses a public meeting after laying foundation stones for Godavari phase 2 and 3 at Gandipet.

Hyderabad, September 08: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fired a salvo at the opposition BRS over spreading canards on the river Godavari water supply to Hyderabad. The Chief Minister rebutted the comments made by the opposition that Godavari water will be lifted from Mallanna Sagar from the drinking water needs of Hyderabad people.

The CM said that the state government prepared plans to bring 20 TMC of Godavari water from the Sripada Yellampally project. 16 TMC of water is being utilised for drinking water needs of Hyderabad City and 4 TMC of water will be used to fill water bodies and flow in river Musi. ” The opposition party is spreading misinformation on the Godavari water supply project to Hyderabad “.

CM Revanth Reddy also took a broadside at the opposition party BRS for scrapping the Pranahita Chevella project. The leaders in the previous government shelved the project for kickbacks. As a result, Chevella, Tandoor and Parigi were deprived of water. The state government will construct Tummidihatti barrage under Pranahita Chevella project to provide irrigation water to Adilabad and Rangareddy districts.

Stating that the government is committed to complete the Musi Rejuvenation project, the Chief Minister said that Ganga, Yamuna and Sabarmati River development projects were taken up. Why was the opposition party opposing the Musi Rejuvenation project? The previous government dumped the Musi project during its 10-year rule, the CM charged. ” We are ready to thwart opposition’s bid to stall the Musi project and conspiracy against the Hyderabad development”. The Telangana Rising -2047 vision document will be announced on December 9 this year.

The Chief Minister highlighted the development programmes during Nizam rule and Congress regime in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. The Nizam rule protected Hyderabad people from floods by building Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar. Nizam’s foresight helped to address drinking water needs to Hyderabad. The Congress government was working hard to provide drinking water to Hyderabad, which has a population of over one crore. In 1965, the then Congress government provided drinking water to the city from the Manjira River. The credit goes to the Congress governments for lifting Krishna River water to the city in three phases and quenching the thirst of the people.

Some political forces claimed they have done something by pouring Godavari water brought by the Congress on their heads. Their sins will not wash away by pouring water on their heads, the CM said Nalgonda district was in serious trouble due to polluted Musi. We made the promise to Nalgonda that the Musi River will be revived.
