Mahbubnagar, January 17: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asserted that the state government would maintain a ‘give and take policy’ with the union government for the development of the state. The Chief Minister rebuked criticism of his frequent meetings with Prime minister Narendra Modi and made it clear that he will meet the PM as many times to seek more funds for the development of the Telangana state.

Addressing a public meeting in Mahbubnagar today, the CM said that “We will move forward together with the Central government in a give-and-take approach for state development. We will not be ready to obstruct the development of this region for petty politics”, the Chief minister said that he respects Modi as the Prime minister of the country and met the latter to bring more funds to the state.

In a vitriolic attack on the BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao, the CM said that KCR was not his enemy as he already defeated the BRS leader in the 2023 Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections held in 2024. “Why would I consider someone sitting in a farmhouse as my enemy? I have no enemies. We defeated them in the elections and formed the government. My enemies are those who create trouble for the poor, women and the students”, the CM said that his main goal is eradicate poverty and develop the Palamuru district.

The Chief minister took a jibe at KCR for not completing the projects in the Palamuru district. Palamuru Rangareddy project, Bhima, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, Jurala, and Kalwakurthi were not completed during the 10-year BRS regime. During CM Kiran Kumar Reddy’s rule in erstwhile united AP, leaders like DK Aruna and A Srinivas Reddy got the Palamuru Rangareddy project sanctioned.

The CM pointed out that Rs 25,000 crores were spent on the Palamuru Rangareddy project, but no compensation was paid to the displaced. We paid compensation to the farmers of Uddanpur and Rs 12 crore to remove the rock in Sangambanda to provide irrigation facilities to thousands of acres. Compensation was also not paid to the displaced people of the Kalwakurthy project in BRS rule, the Chief minister said that he released Rs 75 crores for land acquisition. During his tenure as KodangalMLA , the Makthal and Narayanpet lift irrigation project was sanctioned in the erstwhile united AP and released funds for the survey. In 2014, we secured the approval for the Kodangal-Narayanpet lift irrigation project with an outlay of Rs 2000 crores.

Further, the Chief minister said that the government sanctioned Rs 123 crores for a new bridge over the Jurala project and questioned the former BRS ministers for making hue and cry on the release of funds for the district projects.

CM Revanth Reddy took a swipe at the BRS for not attending the debate on Palamuru Rangareddy project and irrigation projects in the Assembly. The BRS leaders should think about why they ran away without participating in the debate in the Assembly. Those who did not attend the assembly are now targeting the government.

The CM said the government took the responsibility of completing all pending projects, including Palamuru, SLBC, Kodangal, and Narayanpet lift irrigation projects. The Chief minister urged the MLAs to take responsibility and ensure that farmers who are losing their lands near the project sites get adequate compensation. “Sukhracharyudu (KCR) deployed Marichudu and Subahuudu (KTR and harish Rao) to obstruct the development. Palamuru people have the power to teach a befitting lesson to such devil forces. We know the strategies”.

Stating that the government prepared plans to develop Palamuru district, CM Revanth Reddy said that along with the establishment of IIIT, we laid the foundation stones for development programmes worth hundreds of crores in Mahabubnagar. Gattu Mandal is the most backward district in the country. Palamuru is backward because the previous governments did not provide adequate funds, the CM said with the cooperation of the central government, we will get the IIM sanctioned and established right here in Mahbubnagar. “My dream is that people visiting from different parts of the country to Telangana should see the Palamuru district as a role model in irrigation and education”.

The chief minister questioned BRS leaders about the utilization of Rs 20 lakh crores . All the pending projects would have been completed , improved basic education facilities for the poor and constructed 20 lakh houses if the funds are utilized in a transparent manner.

The CM highlighted that the people’s government sanctioned 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses. We are giving 5 lakhs to every poor person for house construction and providing fine rice to 3.16 crore people through ration shops. The Bathukamma sarees given by the previous government were used in the fields, the chief minister said that the present government distributed Indiramma sarees to 65 lakh women and gave to another 35 lakh women. The chief minister alleged that the BRs government bought sarees in bulk from Surat and took commissions.

CM Revanth Reddy also alleged that the previous government weakened the women’s self-help groups by not giving loans. Now, the women groups were getting loans with zero interest. For the past two years, we have been providing free travel for women in RTC buses, upholding their self-respect. 1000 buses were hired from women’s self-help groups, and they are operating them in RTC. Allocated petrol pumps to women.
