Medaram, September 23: Stating that the People’s Government was formed with the blessings of the famous deities- Sammakka Saralamma, Chief minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the government is ready to release sufficient funds for the development of the famous Sammakka temple in Medaram. The Chief Minister instructed the authorities to constitute a “Dedicated Official Team ” to expedite the temple works and complete them within a deadline of 100 days.
At a review of the temple development with local temple officials, priests and representatives, the CM said emphasized that the tribal culture, traditions and their beliefs should be taken into consideration in the development of the famous temple. Since the temple was located in the pristine nature, CM Revanth Reddy also said that the new structures should withstand the natural disasters. The construction of Check Dams and a facility to reserve Jampanna Vagu (rivulet) should also be part of the temple development.
The officials briefed the priests and tribal groups about the plans including designs and other development works in the temple premises. During the meeting, the CM also sought the opinions of the priests and tribal representatives. The local community welcomed the government’s decision to the expansion of the temple.
When the tribal groups brought various issues related to tribal culture and traditions, the Chief Minister assured that tribal culture, traditions and beliefs will be given utmost importance. ” The deities Sammakka and Saralammas are the inspiration for struggle. I have been visiting the temple since I was elected as an MLA”, the Chief Minister said remembering he embarked on Padayatra from the holy place on February 6, 2023
Instructing the officials to complete the works within 100 days, CM Revanth Reddy said that stone structures should be constructed in the temple area. State Irrigation officials were also instructed to develop check dams and conserve Jampanna Vagu for water resources of the temple.
” It is a divine blessing for all who are taking part in the development of the temple. We should all work with devotion without expecting returns “, the Chief Minister said that it is also our responsibility to preserve history, tribal struggle for future generations to inspire.
