CM Revanth Reddy in press conference

HYDERABAD, February 09: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took a broadside at the BJP led union government for discriminating against the Telangana state in the approval of projects and devolution of the central funds since 2013. The Chief Minister also slammed the BRS leadership for behaving like ‘cocaine and ganja addicts’ and spreading canards against the state government.

Addressing the press here today, the CM nailed the Centre for not approving even a single project proposed by the state government. During recent visit to the state, we expected BJP president Nitin Nabeen would announce national project status to Palamuru Rangareddy district but not a single word uttered. Maharashtra CM Fadnavis also campaigned in Adilabad without making any positive statement on their cooperation in completing the Pranahita-Chevella project, which provides 2 lakh acres of irrigation and drinking water to Adilabad district.

The Chief minister reprimanded Union ministers Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy for mortgaging Telangana’s self-respect before the centre. During the Hyderabad floods, Bandi Sanjay made the promise of compensation to the people whose cars and bikes were damaged. Kishan Reddy also endorsed and people gave verdict to the BJP in the GHMC elections. After the elections, the BJP deceived people. The union ministers were also claiming to sanction hundreds of thousands of crores of rupees to Telangana. The centre was giving less than the share that Telangana has paid to the central government in the form of taxes.

The Chief minister pointed out that for every rupee given to the center, only 42 paise is being given back to Telangana. Karnataka received 16 paise, Tamil Nadu received 26 paise and Kerala got only 49 paise. It was a grave injustice to the southern states. In the northern states, Bihar received Rs 6 rupees and 6 paise. Madhya Pradesh receives 2 rupees and 9 paise and Uttar Pradesh receives 2 rupees and 90 paise.

“Have you ever questioned Modi, the central government, or NITI Aayog about this discrimination?”, the CM said that is it fair for the two union ministers from Telangana to mortgage the Telangana’s self-respect in Delhi? The central government has not given anything to Telangana by using its discretionary powers. The union ministers failed to bring national status to a single project, no funds to the Musi rejuvenation project and no approval for Metro Rail phase -2 project. Sanjay and Kishan Reddy have also not brought special funds for the Sammakka Sarakka Jathara and prevented Telangana from getting the ITIR and semiconductor projects that it was entitled to, the CM charged even during the Khammam floods, no additional funds were provided. We paid for the land acquisition for the Warangal airport from the state’s funds.

CM Revanth Reddy took strong exception to the BJP leaders for chanting Modi slogans during the elections. What does Modi have to do with a local election? Will Modi come and clean the drains? The CM castigated the BJP for resorting to religious politics by using Owaisi’s name. Inciting religious hatred for political survival is a testament to their intellectual bankruptcy.

Further, the Chief minister alleged that BJP and BRS were maintaining secret relations and it could be the main reason Kishan Reddy was stopping the arrest of KCR , KTR and harish Rao in phone tapping, Kaleshwaram and Formula e race cases. BJP and BRS maintained close relations. The BRS supported demonetization, anti-farmer black laws, and triple talaq. KCR ‘s statement that Modi that his love was enough, and nothing else was needed.

“We will not let BRS sprout again in the state politics”, the Chief minister said that the BRS should be cleaned with acid and free the state from the disgruntled forces. Those who have been in power for ten years are now asking for votes to solve the problems. The BRS wielded power from the Sarpanch level. Are not KCR, KTR, and Harish the main reasons for today’s problems? The BRS leaders are speaking with arrogance like the cocaine and ganja addicts. CM Revanth Reddy took a strong dig at BRS leaders for collecting money through telephone tapping with a frenzy and mental illness. The CM wondered why the BRS leaders were projecting themselves as heroes when they were appearing before the probe agency in the infamous phone tapping case.

Appealing to people to give a big mandate to Congress in the Municipal elections, the Chief Minister said that a three-corner fight is underway. People should give their verdict keeping in mind the bitter experience in the past and the future that lies before them.

The CM elaborated the welfare and development programmes mainly the prompt payment of salaries to government employees, increased the Arogyasri limit from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, free travel facilities for women in RTC buses, new ration cards and supplying fine rice to the poor, waived farmer loans and paid Rs. 9,000 crores in nine days as part of the Raithu Bharosa scheme, giving a bonus of Rs. 500 for fine rice, 3500 Indiramma houses per constituency for the poor and ₹5 lakhs to the poor who are building houses. We have already filled 70,000 government job vacancies and established the Young India Skills University and the Sports University. Building the Young India Residential School, developing the Future City, the CM said they conducted a BC caste census, which has never been done in the last hundred years and also provided a permanent solution to the forty-year-old problem of SC categorization. People should think about what is best for Telangana society and make a wise decision. This government is for people.
