CM Revanth Reddy meets UK Business Schools delegation
Education hub is coming up in the ‘Bharat Future City’
Arrival of top-tier business schools draws the attention of leading corporate entities to Telangana
Hyderabad, September 17: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the world-renowned Harvard University will start an academic programme by offering executive education courses to the aspirants in Hyderabad from December 2026.
During a meeting with a delegation from UK business schools, the Chief Minister stated that the Telangana government is taking rapid strides toward transforming the state into a ‘Global Knowledge Hub.’ On Thursday, the CM held a meeting at the MCR HRD Institute with a 30-member delegation representing various UK universities.
The group included Lord Karan Bilimoria (UK House of Lords), Janaka Pushpanathan (British Council), Flora Hamilton (CEO, Chartered Association of Business Schools), and representatives from the British Deputy High Commission.
During interaction with Deans and senior officials of various UK business schools, CM Revanth Reddy assured the delegation that the state government is fully prepared to meet the specific requirements of these universities. The process of establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad by prestigious institutions such as MIT and Purdue is already underway, the Chief Minister stated that the arrival of foreign educational institutions would facilitate collaboration with local universities and industries, as well as enable research activities to be conducted locally. Global corporates would also turn their attention to the Telangana state if the UK business schools were established in the state .
The CM highlighted that students and faculty in the state would gain access to international institutions, global experience, and world-class opportunities from the offshore campuses in Telangana .
CM Revanth Reddy stressed that the partnership with prominent international universities—such as Harvard, MIT, the University of London, Virginia Tech, and Northeastern University would provide an opportunity to offer executive programmes, dual-degree courses, faculty training and research. The government was also working to enhance students’ proficiency in foreign languages such as English, German, and Japanese.
The Chief Minister briefed the delegation about the ‘Young India Skills University’ which is being established in ‘Bharat Future City’ to provide cutting-edge skill training to the youth, aligning with evolving market demands. The CM outlined the prestigious ‘Bharat Future City’ which is being established on 30,000 acres, designed to be the country’s first net-zero greenfield smart city. The establishment of an education hub in the future city would boost employment opportunities for future generations.
Extending an invitation to the delegation for the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026,’ scheduled to be held there in December, CM Revanth Reddy announced that key stakeholders in the UK education sector would be specially invited to the global summit. The Chief Minister said the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit’ is being organized with great prestige, modeled after the World Economic Forum held in Davos. Leading global companies are being invited to make massive investments in ‘Future City.’ The TCS company has already announced building the country’s largest AI data center with an investment of ₹70,000 crore. Amazon has already commenced the construction of a data center with an investment of ₹1 lakh crore.
The CM said that efforts are underway to establish a presence for world-class universities and Fortune 500 companies in Telangana. The government’s objective is to radically transform the education system, ranging from nursery to higher education by enhancing youth skills through ITIs, polytechnic colleges, and skill universities, as well as through initiatives like Telangana Public Schools and the Young India Sports University. The goal of transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047 and a $1 trillion economy by 2034 was also highlighted in the meeting.
