Hyderabad, November 07: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has said that game changing development happened in the congress government from 2004 to 2014. Significant developments like the establishment of international airport, IIT, Google and Facebook witnessed during the Congress regime, the Chief Minister said appealing to the Jubilee Hills voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the by polls. The winning of the Congress in the by-election to Jubilee Hills assembly constituency will help to fasten the development of the Hyderabad city further, the CM stressed.
Addressing the press conference today, CM Revanth Reddy said that the Congress was in power in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and at the centre between 2004 and 2014. The BRS ruled the Telangana state from 2014 to 2023. The CM appealed to the people to compare the development that took place during Congress and BRS regime in Telangana. It was the Congress that sowed the seeds for the development of all sectors like international airport, Metro rail, Knowledge centers, IT, pharma etc. in Hyderabad. BRS and BJP had created innumerable hurdles to develop the ITIR project in Hyderabad. The BRS built Kaleshwaram, Pragati Bhavan, Secretariat and Command control centre which did not contribute to the state growth. When Hyderabad was submerged in floods, union minister Kishan Reddy did not provide even a single rupee of central assistance. The union minister also did not respond when a temple was demolished in the secretariat. The BRS built the Kaleshwaram and diverted Godavari water at a cost of Rs 0ne lakh crore but no use of it today. Pragathi Bhavan was only useful for KCR and his family.
The CM questioned KCR for demolishing the secretariat. BRS ruler constructed a new secretariat to address the vastu defect for his son. Did anyone get jobs after the secretariat was built? Did it work for anyone? Did the poor people benefit from the new secretariat? A command control room was set up for phone tapping. Fearing for his life, KCR built bulletproof bathrooms in Pragati Bhavan to protect themselves like Saddam Hussein, fearing for their lives. Before leaving the power, the BRS government handed over the state to us with a mounting debt of Rs 8 lakh 11 thousand crores.
Stating that the Congress government has set up educational institutions that brought us international recognition, CM Revanth Reddy said that the BJP and BRS governments did not bring even a single additional airport. Did they expand the metro by even one kilometer in ten years? Why was the metro not expanded along with the expansion of the city? Why were the irrigation projects started by Congress not completed in ten years? What was done with the Rs 20 lakh crore budget in ten years? They also sold the Outer Ring Road built by the Congress, the CM pointed out.
Further, the chief minister said that the Congress government was preparing new plans for next 10 years, CM Revanth Reddy said that “We are preparing a vision document for Telangana Rising 2047.
Coming down heavily on KTR and Kishan Reddy, the CM said that PJR and Shashidhar Reddy were called Hyderabad Brothers. Now Kishan Reddy and KTR were branded as “Bad Brothers”. The Bad Brothers are obstructing the Metro, Godavari water project to the city, elevated corridors, and Future City. “We brought permission for Warangal and Adilabad airports. We are trying to bring permissions for more airports and also to build a greenfield highway for the establishment of a dry port. A company like Eli Lilly is investing 1 billion dollars in pharma”, the CM said that due to election code during Lok Sabha elections in 2024, his government could not take up some projects. Within a year, we brought Rs 3 lakh crores of investments in a year and prepared plans for the expansion of the city.
The CM alleged that the BRS government has done nothing except extorting commissions from contractors. KTR promoted Hyderabad as the capital of drugs and ganja. Isn’t it true that KTR’s brother-in-law was caught with drugs. The BRS leaders should show at least one project which creates jobs in the state. The Chief minister challenged KTR and Kishan Reddy for a debate on the city development.
The CM emphasized that the cooperation of the people’s representatives is required to develop the city and the winning of Congress in the by elections is the need of the hour. If BJP and BRS had cooperated, we would have developed the city further. Let’s expand the metro, bring Godavari water, and clean Musi. The Chief minister took a swipe at Kishan Reddy for obstructing the Musi Rejuvenation project. Why did Kishan Reddy surrender to KTR?
Alleging that BRS rulers encroached 44 of the 695 ponds in the city, the CM said that KTR was obstructing HYDRAA from protecting encroached water bodies. The BRS leader Edla Sudhakar Reddy encroached Bathukamma Kunta. Isn’t it true that Sunnam Cheruvu and Nalla Cheruvu encroached upon? It was HYDRAA that built water harvesting wells in the city and prevented water from stagnating on the roads. Let’s set up a fact-finding committee to tell us where HYDRAA went wrong.
The chief minister also fired a salve at BRS leader Harish Rao. The BRS leader was expelling all those who were close to KCR’s family from BRS and conspiring to kill the BRS party. Now, Kavitha also left the party. The CM also took strong exception to Harish comments on his visit to the Secretariat. “I have been coming to the Secretariat and performing my duties by working 10 hours every day. I am using the Command control centre as a camp office’, The CM clarified.
The Chief minister appealed to Jubilee Hills voters to support Congress. “We will develop Hyderabad city in all sectors and show it. We will root out drug menace from the city and develop Hyderabad at the international level. Give Congress a chance in Jubilee Hills for once”. The CM also opposed the BRS comments against Naveen Yadav. Who is rowdy? Will a person who smokes ganja on Diwali become rowdy? Will a person who stands by the poor become rowdy?
Stating that the truth will be known to everyone on November 14 on the by election results day, CM Revanth Reddy said that the congress slogan is “Defeat the BRS, Make the BJP lose its deposit”. The CM also countered union minister Bandi Sanjay Comments. Will the union minister consider the defeat of BJP as a referendum that Hindus were opposing the BJP?
Referring to the bandh call given by the College managements on the payment of fee reimbursement dues, the Chief Minister warned of strict action if the students faced hardships to pursue their studies. Government will not tolerate the collusion politics of the political parties and colleges. The CM made it clear that the government will release funds in a phased manner. The delay in the payment of dues was not a new problem. We are aware of which political parties the college associations were hand in glove. The government will not tolerate blackmail politics, the CM said that Education is not a business and a Service.
