CM Revanth Reddy conducted a visit to flood affected areas in Kamareddy district today

Hyderabad, September 04: Chief Minister Shri A Revanth Reddy instructed the officials to prepare an action plan for a permanent solution to prevent floods in the heavy rain hit areas. The officials were also ordered to enumerate flood damages and submit reports expeditiously.

During the visit to the flood affected Kamareddy district today, the Chief Minister inspected the damaged Lingampallu Kurdu R and B bridge in Lingampet in Kamareddy district. The CM also has a glimpse of a photo exhibition on the damage of the bridge and ordered officials to prepare plans to restore the bridge permanently. The CM suggested constructing a bridge cum barrage or bridge cum check dam to prevent the damage of the structure in the future.

During interaction, the flood affected farmers poured out their woes due to loss of crops, farm fields filled with sand and the damage of their houses. The CM assured that the government will provide all kinds of support to the affected farmers and ordered the official to submit a detailed department wise damages.

The Kamareddy district witnessed unprecedented floods for the first time in the last 100 years, the CM said appealing to the leaders to provide a succor to the victims of the floods. The CM praised Congress MLA Madan Mohan for providing immediate relief preventing property damages and loss of life. ” The true leader is who stands by the people during the crisis. I came to assess the damages and also took stock of the situation in the flood ravaged areas “, the Chief Minister said that Minor and Major irrigation projects have been damaged. The Pocharam project saved many lives during heavy floods. Sensing urgency, temporary repairs were also taken up at the damages projects.

Stating that special funds will be released to remove piled up sand in the agriculture fields, CM Revanth Reddy said that compensation will also be provided for crop damages. The authorities were also ordered to prepare estimates for the damaged roads and projects and also conduct a field visit to assess the damages completely.

Interacting with the residents of the flood affected GR Colony in Kamareddy town, the chief minister said that Immediate measures helped to rescue many people though the damage of the properties was more. Rs. 5 lakhs compensation will be provided to the families of the deceased and financial assistance to those who lost their livestock.

The CM said that soon after receiving an alert about heavy rains in Kamareddy district, he had instructed in-charge Minister Seethakka, Shabbir Ali, MP Shetkar and MLAs to visit the flood affected villages and extend immediate relief to the victims.

In view of the threat of more floods in the future, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to take steps towards a permanent solution to prevent such catastrophic situations. The government resolved to address the plight of the people in heavy rain affected areas.

” We will also provide the necessary help of books and other study material distribution to the students in the flood hit villages” The CM said suggesting to the officials to seek the help of Industries under CSR ( Corporate Social Responsibility).

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government would provide all support to Kamareddy on the lines of Kodangal assembly constituency which was receiving substantial funds for development. The CM appealed to people to be strong enough as the government is ready to help.
